Usually the payments came with a brief note describing how much fun your children and grandchildren were having with the program. It made my day to find a thankyou and a check every now and then in the mail. I even got a few notes from the children themselves, what a joy that was! The net result is that you kept me psyched up to expand upon the good start of Coloring Book 1.1. What is Coloring Book? Coloring Book is an electronic coloring book in which children color areas of pictures by selecting a color from the color palette and clicking on the various items. Hidden within the pages to be colored are many surprising animations and enjoyable sounds. The program explores some of the possibilities offered by the new computer medium with activities such as virtual paper dolls and a robot construction set. Coloring Book has received rave reviews in the publications of several of the largest Mac Users Groups. More importantly, it has been delighting children (and a few adults) aroud the world for the last two years. Whats New in Coloring Book 2.01 The help window is now locked, so the kids can't rewrite the help screens. Some of the longer animations have been trapped to prevent multiple activation by double and triple clicks. Whether you are interested in writing feature films, sit-coms, episodic television or stage plays, Final Draft is the only program that you will ever need. It combines complete word processing with all the script formatting intelligence to make your script look professional as you write without burdening you with complicated commands and techniques. Scene headings, action, dialog, character names, MORE's and CONTINUED's and scene numbers, it knows them all. And for the professional writer, it contains production-oriented features such as revision marks and A & B pages, vital when rewrites inevitably occur. Over the past 5 years, Final Draft has become the clear standard in the Hollywood community. Clients include writers such as Brian de Palma, Robert Altman, Jeff Abrams ("Regarding Henry", "Forever Young"), Mike Backes ("Rising Sun") and others such as Harry Anderson, Sinbad and Tom Hanks. In addition, reviews in MacWorld and MacUser magazines gave the program 4 stars and 4 mice, respectively. Or are you tired of those low battery warnings coming up minutes or even hours before they really should? Then Threshold is the answer! Threshold lets you adjust when the low battery warnings occur. You can alter the warnings to come up later than usual, giving you more productive battery time. It is essential if you are using an external battery pack (PowerPlate, ThinPack or similar), but it's also handy for internal batteries. Threshold sports a concise graphical display. It shows an analog graph representing current battery voltage, with the curent warning points illustrated. There is also a battery status indicator, an elapsed timer, and a sleep button. The warning thresholds are easily adjusted using up & down arrows. Threshold allows you to program up to three different sets of warnings, and can automatically toggle between different sets for internal and external batteries. Version 1.0.4 increases error recovery for a corrupted "MyBattery Link" file, and restricts how low the thresholds can be adjusted for internal batteries. Shareware; $10 registration fee suggested. If you don't know what a UPS is: UPS stands for Uninterruptible Power Supply, basically this is an external power supply for your Mac with a battery. When you have a power failure, a UPS gives you 10-15 grace minutes to save all your work and shut down, which might be a bit hard if you're not near the computer at the time. UPSMon takes care of this for you! Changes since version 1.4 * Added support for external serial ports, with peripheral cards such as QuadraLink or Hurdler. In general, UPS Monitor is CTB-aware and will recognize all CTB serial ports, including virtual ports defined with PortConnector. All you have to do is select the right port from the pop-up menu in the Configuration dialog, just like in ZTerm. * Fixed a bug with the dates. * Converted date translation to support international date formats. I would like to use CTB-aware applications as telnet terminals over a SLIP connection. Usually, this means SITcomm 1.0.1, but ClarisWorks 2.1v2 could also come into play. I've tried both the Outland and TGE TCP tools mentioned here with mixed results. The Outland tool immediately crashes when I click the "Connect" button in SITcomm. The TGE tool works OK, but typing and pasting text in the terminal window is interminably slow; the commands I type are sent to the host at something like 300 baud speed. *Received* text, on the other hand takes full advantage of my modem's 14.4kbps speed. So, my questions for you are: 1) (This is a FAQ, but for the sake of completeness): What shareware/freeware/ demoware TCP tools are available on the net or commercial services? 2) What commercial TCP tools are available? Which ones are *recommended*? 3) Why does the Outland tool crash? Has anyone got it to work with SLIP and/or SITcomm? 4) Why is typing text with the TGE tool so slow? Is that typical of the tool or a problem with SITcomm? 5) Is my quest for a well-functioning CTB TCP tool hopeless, and should I just use NCSA Telnet? I hate the idea of adding yet another one-use application to my hard drive... Plus, I'm beginning to really like SITcomm despite its ahh.. immaturity. So it turns out that the conflict was not between RAMDoubler and Photoshop itself, but between RAMDoubler and the DSP plug-in. As I said before, I have run Photoshop with the plug-in installed but without RAMDoubler and had no problems at all. However, I have doubts about whether or not the plug-in works at all. I have noticed absolutely zero speed increase in the operations it professes to speed-up. But I have noticed that it is the last plug-in to load, despite the fact that it's name begins with an A. Hi everyone, Does Photoshop 2.5(.1) conflict with RAMDoubler? On my 660AV with 8MB of RAM doubled to 16MB, Photoshop crashes when using certain filters, most noticably Gaussian Blur. On other filters, such as Solarize, I have no problems. Otherwise, my Mac freezes. Force-quitting Photoshop invariably brings up a dialog box telling me an "unimplemented trap occured" or something like that, and my only option is to restart. When I try Gaussian Blur and the other criminal filters with RAMDoubler disabled, I have no problems, so there is most likely a conflict. This is quite strange considering that one of the plethora of apps the Quadra 650 in the RAMDoubler ads, and even on the box, is running is Photoshop!! I should also point out that I am running the AV DSP plug-in. Any advice would be most sincerely appreciated. Could anyone provide or point me to a PICT/clip art of this? The nearest image I have is from Brad's Favorite Clip Art which is the hand/mouse sans driving glove. Please email direct or to the digest. Your help is greatly appreciated. A friend is looking for a program (free, share, or $$$-ware) that will allow one to hide folders/files and that can not be tampered with by ResEdit. I guess what he means is a program that will not allow ResEdit to reveal the hidden files? Anyone know of such a beast? I do not know anything about ResEdit or security programs so, if this doesn't make sense, just let me know. Many Thanks. Howard M. You are the victim of a misinformed salesperson. SoftWindows is available this very minute as a standalone product in the USA. For example, Mac's Place is selling it for US$319.
